Thistle Decorators was appointed to deliver the complete decorating package for this exceptional Arts & Crafts family home in Morningside, Edinburgh. Working alongside the project’s architect, interior designer and main contractor, we completed the decorating works throughout the property, combining premium paint finishes with carefully specified luxury wallpapers.
This substantial renovation transformed a traditional family home into a contemporary yet characterful living space. Each room has its own identity while maintaining a cohesive look and feel throughout the property.

Particular attention was required where colours were specified as non-colour-matched finishes. Using the original manufacturer’s products ensured the intended colour, depth and character were achieved accurately.

The cinema room provides a rich, atmospheric space designed for comfort and relaxation, with deep tones and carefully layered finishes that enhance the sense of intimacy. The feature staircase acts as a striking focal point within the home, showcasing the craftsmanship of the joinery and the precision of the decorative finishes. In contrast, the children’s study and principal bedroom introduce a softer, more personal palette, balancing elegance with warmth to create calm, inviting spaces suited to everyday living.
